Suspect arrested in attempted murder of woman in NYC: police officers

A thug who assaulted a woman in a Harlem apartment block last week and severely beat her as he attempted to rape her between cars was arrested on Wednesday, police said.

Rasheen Davis, 39, was caught in connection with Friday night’s attack on a 43-year-old woman on West 123rd Street between Lenox Avenue and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard, police said.

He faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder. The victim clung to life after the incident.

The NYPD released video showing the suspect putting on latex gloves just before pouncing on the woman from behind, police sources said.

The attacker repeatedly kicked the woman in the head and body as he attempted to rape her between two parked cars, police said. Then he fled.
