Officials and crews, including K9, searched the nearby Beech Creek community properties. Summer was last seen.

Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson noted that there were no new developments leading up to the search.

However, Lawson stressed that speculation on social media influenced the investigation.

“The first few months, it was pretty bad, but I think now we just don’t notice it anymore,” Lawson said.

“I mean, it’s just a waste of our time. Sometimes we get something we really want to test, but people are out of state – they really don’t know what we’re doing.

“And I assure you that we put in 100 per cent effort. We – the TBI, the FBI, my officers – we gave 100% on this case.

“There are no stones left and we’re not done yet.”

Regarding the new search, the girl’s mother, Candus Bly Wells, released a statement.

“I’m glad they’re still looking for my daughter, Summer. I’ve heard about it, but I can’t find anyone.

“Thank you for remembering her.”
