Sugar Land police officer in critical condition after pickup truck drove into squad car on Southwest Freeway, authorities say

Transtar cameras show an active scene on the Southwest Freeway at 90A southbound.

Police told us that around 2am the officer blocked a previous accident when their squad car was hit by a pickup truck.

While first responders were attending to this officer, police said a woman in a Jeep hit the pickup.

All three people were taken to the hospital.

The Sugar Land Police Department has not yet released the officer’s name.

Motorists should expect US-59 to be closed for most of Sunday morning.
