Students got expelled from school after making DIY FLAMETHROWER

TWO students have been kicked out of school for trying to make a DIY flamethrower out of an aerosol can.

The Isle of Wight incident was among nearly 1,500 involving children Bring guns into the classroom.

In another startling report, a schoolgirl turned her lipstick into a Killing Eve-style knife – Attaching a blade to the end and threatening another student.

In Oldham, officials admitted to 67 incidents, including a schoolboy shooting another in the leg with a BB gun.

There was a similar incident in Bradford.

A student was expelled from school for attacking another with a piece of broken glass North Yorkshire while another threw a pair of scissors.

Hammers and firecrackers were part of the arsenal in Barking and Dagenham, East London.

In Durham, where the lipstick incident took place, a student was injured when another student attacked with a pencil sharpener blade.

Freedom of information requests resulted in 1,490 expulsions with guns last year, although many local authorities did not provide data.

Campaign for Real Education chair Christopher McGovern said: “The breakdown of order in our streets is spilling over into schools.”

The Department of Education said it was providing targeted support in the hardest-hit areas.
