What’s new from the team?
Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed he has “all the available players” for tonight’s HUGE competition.
Which means Bruno Fernandes should be fit and ready to play after missing out on the 3-2 win over Spurs with Covid-19.
As well as Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay, who were also unavailable to catch the Cristiano Ronaldo show.
Atletico Madrid could be without EIGHT players for the trip to Old Trafford.
However, Yannick Carrasco was already suspended; Thomas Lemar, Matheus Cunha, Daniel Wass, Sime Vrsaljiko, Mario Hermoso and now Geoffrey Kondogbia are unlikely to feature later.
On the other hand, Diego Simeone is preparing to welcome back striker Angel Correa who, despite his recent muscle problems, appears to have shaken off his ankle problems and midfield magician Koke.

The qualification hangs in the balance
Fifth in the Premier League table, United cannot take their participation in next year’s tournament for granted with fourth-placed Arsenal having three games to play.
Another avenue for Rangnick’s team is to actually win the trophy, which they last did in 2008.
United last reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2019 when they lost 4-0 on aggregate to Barcelona.
Increase the anti
Italian soccer icon Antonio Cassano has insisted Cristiano Ronaldo is NOT one of the best in the world.
ronaldo has scored 18 goals in all competitions since his emotional return to Old Trafford, an impressive feat for the 37-year-old forward.
But former real Madrid and inter-man Cassano, crowned 39 times by Italy, still refused to include him in the planet’s elite.
Cassano told Bobo TV: “I take my hat off to the 807 goals he scored. But Cristiano Ronaldo is not one of the best players in the world.
“Goal scorer? Yes. Is he a strong striker? Also. Has he won titles? Yes.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is like [Pippo] Inzaghi and [David] Trezeguet. They were fabulous players but let’s face it, playing football is different.”
This Atletico Madrid fan hasn’t forgotten the roots of his former goalkeeper, David De Gea.
The Spaniard admitted ahead of the first leg that after over a decade at Manchester, Old Trafford now feels like home to him.
But who knows if this fan is taking a nostalgic selfie or one to mock his team’s former stopper on social media.

Fans please ring in Rang’s ears
Rangnick says if you get yelled at by a packed stadium, it will feel like they have extra men on the pitch.
He said: “Like the Spurs game, we need both our players and our fans to be at our best.
“Antonio Conte said after the game that it was a very difficult atmosphere to play in and that’s the biggest compliment you can get when the opponent’s head coach says that.
“Our fans play an important role, there is always a special atmosphere at Old Trafford. You can be our 12th or 13th player on the pitch and make the difference.
“It’s a special experience for everyone, but ultimately it’s up to us.
“We were the team that wanted to win this game on Saturday. Our fans realized how much we wanted to win this game and they played a crucial role – and we have to do the same against Atletico.”
Show how good Eu are!
Ralf Rangnick said to his Manchester United stars: This is the chance to show that you belong to Europe’s top level. writes NEIL CUSTIS.
The Red Devils are 90 minutes from a place in the last eight of the Champions League for only the second time in eight seasons.
After Saturday’s thrilling 3-2 win over Tottenham, he’s confident they’ll be there.
United are tied 1-1 while Atletico Madrid play their last-16 second leg at Old Trafford tonight.
Manager Rangnick said: “It’s about our own sporting ambition. We’re very ambitious, we want to continue, we want to show that we can compete with the best teams in Europe and we’ll try to win the game.
“How much lift would it be if we win? That’s how we go into the game.
“We have a fantastic opportunity to be in the top eight teams in Europe and that’s what we’re trying to achieve.
“The game against Tottenham showed what level we can play at and I’m sure that with another ten or 20 per cent we can win against Madrid.
“Everyone in the squad is highly motivated and we can hardly wait for the kick-off.”
Good evening Red Devils fans
Welcome to SunSport’s live blog of Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.
And what a roller-coaster season it has been for the three-time winners of this famous competition.
They managed to get through the group stage thanks to a series of late winners and equalizers from Cristiano Ronaldo.
But win the group they made – and here they are in the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competition.
It feels like spring is on its way and there could be a new lease of life for Ralf Rangnick after a chilly few months at the helm.
The sad truth is that United have not managed to string together three wins in all competitions all season.
And the habit of conceding goals has become a plague on the club’s form and fortune.
There is no doubt that there is a lack of cohesion in the roster and among veteran first-team players, resulting in game patterns that appear disjointed and out of sync.
You can’t see that any more than when Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
Frustrated and anonymous one week, sensational the next – what may be the hottest talent in Manchester United history can cement his place as possibly the greatest United player of all time if he fires them to Champions League glory this season.
And in the way?
Pesky, stubborn, energetic, pushy Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid.
Silky-smooth passing and movement aside, this certainly has all the hallmarks of a heated Old Trafford knockout classic.
