Straphanger slams MTA platoon leader with glass bottle: cops

An enraged straphanger hit an MTA employee in the head with a glass bottle on a subway platform in Manhattan’s Financial District on Sunday morning, police officers said.
The attack happened around 2am on the northbound J subway platform at Broad Street and Wall Street after the driver “attacked” a conductor who was trying to evacuate a train of passengers, according to a police source.
“Someone took offense when they were told to get off the train,” the source said. “They took a glass bottle and hit the train driver on the head.”
The attacker was described as a blond man with a green shopping bag.
The 44-year-old victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, police said.
