Stranger Things: Fans are desperate after Netflix crashed on Volume 2 release

Netflix has released the second volume of the fourth season of stranger things on Friday (July 1st) at 3am ET (8am BST), but not without some technical difficulties.

Part one of the penultimate season of the sci-fi series broke Netflix streaming records and became the biggest premiere weekend debut for an English-language series ever.

Now it looks like part two could be on the way to similar heights after streamer demand skyrocketed during its release and temporarily crashed the platform.

Corresponding diversity, User complaints peaked at nearly 13,000. Desperate fans quickly took to Twitter to share their devastation at the Netflix glitch.

Alongside a photo of a man crying, one user wrote, “I didn’t stay up until Netflix crashed #StrangerThings.”

“I wasn’t just counting down the seconds like Netflix New Year’s Eve crashed,” commented a second fan.

Many found the news amusing, with someone tweeting, “Did we seriously crash Netflix?” followed by a laughing emoji.

“It’s weird that Netflix would crash,” one fan wrote, punting the show’s title. “In fact, I’d say it’s one of the weirdest things I’ve heard lately!”

Part one of the season consisted of eight episodes, but the final volume was split into two mega-length episodes, with the first episode running for 85 minutes and the last episode lasting two and a half hours.
