A stranger hit a teenager in the face with a brick in an unprovoked Chelsea attack in broad daylight this week, police officers said on Wednesday.
The attacker approached the victim around 11:30 a.m. Monday and hit him with the brick without saying a word on West 20th Street near 10th Avenue, police said.
The victim was taken to Lenox Hill HealthPlex in stable condition with a serious injury to her face.
The suspect fled after the attack. The victim told police he did not know the man who attacked him and had not previously been in contact with him.
Police released footage of the suspect picking up the brick from a planting area, but it doesn’t capture the moment of the attack.
Police say he is in his late teens to early 20s, with dark skin, a slim build and black hair.
He was last seen in a black long sleeve shirt, black pants and white sneakers.
