Storm Eunice: Matt Lucas and David Baddiel among celebrities responding to storm


Equal Storm Eunice continues to wreak havoc in parts of the UKfamous people such as Matt Lucas and David Baddiel reacted to the chaos unfolding on social media.

Eunice is said to be one of the worst storms in decades. The Met Office issued two “red” weather warnings due to the severity of the winds – an extremely rare occurrence.

Over 100,000 homes across England and Wales have blackout experience, while record gusts of 122mph were recorded at the Needles on the Isle of Wight.

Before the storm fully kicked in on Friday (February 18), comedian Baddiel questioned the name chosen for the storm.

“I do not believe that a hurricane named Dudley, or indeed a hurricane named Eunice, can foretell a sense of devastation,” he wrote on Wednesday (February 16).

“I think they anticipate the feeling that these storms can bring you a good cup of tea.”

In other places, The Great British Bake Off Host Matt Lucas tweeted: “I will tell my kids that Storm Eunice blew all my hair out.”

Based on Brighton RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Contestant Joe Black reposted a photo from his time on the show, depicting a windy day on the Pier.

“Happy Storm Eunice day everyone,” Black captioned the image.

Meanwhile, Adam Kay, whose stories from his time as a doctor inspired the BBC series This will hurttell his followers how he is watching the storm affect the landing of aircraft via Big Jet TVa live stream on YouTube.

He tweeted “FUN with Big Jet TV. “The poor pilots, crew and passengers just landed. I need a free Bloody Mary to pass just watching it. ”
