Star Hobson’s evil mother groans on phone and is ‘sad’ after hearing prison sentence could increase following tot’s death

STAR Hobson’s evil mother was whipped after hearing her prison sentence could be increased following the tot’s gruesome death, it is reported.

Frankie Smith, 20, moans on the phone with her grandfather David Fawcett from her cell phone after she was locked up for eight years about the brutal death of a young daughter.

Smith’s girlfriend, Savannah Brockhill28 years old, sentenced to life in prison for beating to death his lover’s 16-month-old daughter.

Brockhill inflicted “extremely catastrophic” injuries on Star after carrying out a brutal campaign of emotional and physical abuse.

The attorney general has now been asked to review the convictions of the two women under the “excessive leniency” scheme.

David, 61, one of two relatives still in contact with Smith, said his niece was “sad” after hearing that his prison sentence could be increased.

He told Sunday people: “She called me on Thursday and she was a bit upset because they were reviewing the sentence. People don’t think eight years is long enough.

“Honestly, she’s sad about it. She’s lost a daughter and has had to live with it for the rest of her life, that’s all she talks about.”

Star died in hospital from blood loss after the inferior vena cava – the largest vein in the body – was torn.

Medics said her injuries usually only appear in car crash victims and are caused by “punches, kicks or stamps”.

This kind girl also suffered a severe skull fracture and several other fractures in her tibia and ribs that led to the deadly attack in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

Star Smith’s mother was cleared of murder but found guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child.

She was jailed for only 8 years for this crime, the maximum sentence is 14 years in prison.

Evil Brockhill was imprisoned for life with a minimum of 25 years after she was found guilty of the tragic woman’s murder.

The self-proclaimed “No1 Psycho” girl smiled while giving the verdict, smiled and made a gesture to open up to her family when entering the court.

Mrs Justice Lambert has stoned the pair for tarnishing Star’s short life with “neglect, cruelty and hurt”.

Smith is currently in a single cell in the same women’s prison as serial killer Rose West, according to the Sunday People.

She will serve her sentence in the Willow House wing of New Hall prison near Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

A source said: ‘She is a highly regarded woman and it won’t be long before someone is looking for her.

“She’s in the wings of the rescuers so there are a lot of women with very little to lose who will attack her for the price of a few chocolate bars or toiletries.”

Grandpa David plans to visit Smith in prison after Christmas – but he admits their contact has caused conflict.

He said: “My family is broken. I am also suffering from family members so I have to run that glove a bit.

“We were always close, like father and daughter. It was like losing two of them – Star and Frankie. Until the age of 18, Frankie was brilliant.

“She lived with us for two years, Anita taught her to cook – we never argued.

“When Savannah arrived, everything changed. She got in Frankie’s head and turned her into this vile villain. It was horrible.”

After it emerged that Brockhill was resurrected twice in prison before trial – but her victim’s family says she should have been dead.

She collapsed while in custody and was found face down after 90 minutes of epileptic seizures two days before facing murder charges for beating Star.

The amateur boxer suffered two cardiac arrests – but was revived each time by paramedics, who performed life-saving CPR.

Star’s great-grandfather, Frank Smith, 68, told the Sun on Sunday: “I wish they’d let her die. Star’s injuries were so terrible that she couldn’t be revived. Brockhill was saved, however. How unfair is that?”

A protective practice review has been launched into Star’s death, which comes just weeks after the gruesome murder of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.

In the chilling aftermath of the six-year-old’s death, there were five chances to save Star but the family’s concerns were ignored by social workers and the police.

Boris Johnson has sworn that action will be taken to prevent such “shocking and heartbreaking” tragedies in the future.

At the sentencing, Star’s great-grandmother Anita Smith read a powerful statement to the victim, who warned social workers: “Do you want another baby P?”

She said Star’s smile will “light up a room” and reveal how she “grows” in the ten weeks she’s cared for her.

Anita added: “Her death was devastating. Her pain was unnecessary as we were all here ready to take care of her.

“All I want is Star back, I know there’s nothing anyone can say or do to change what happened but that doesn’t stop me from praying every day.

“I kiss her picture every night and say goodnight Star, and it’s a beautiful morning when I wake up.”
