Spotify removes more than 70 episodes of Joe Rogan Experience podcast amid controversy

Spotify has removed more than 70 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience after the podcast host allegedly helped spread misinformation and used racial slurs in the past.

Joe Rogan is leading the controversy in 2022. At the end of January, the podcast host was fired for allegedly helping out. misinformation spread by having controversial guests on his show.

Neil Young threatens to boycott Spotify for allowing him to do this, this spark a movement on social networks. Rogan self-responsibility and fan disclaimer messages will be added in the future.

But just as things were settling down, scenes of Rogan using racial slurs from the past emerged. He emphasize the clip was taken out of context and that he wasn’t racist but admitted it “sounds awful.”

Midway through the series, Spotify removed more than 70 episodes of his show from their platform. Its not for the first time they have done it, with over 100 episodes currently missing.

Joe Rogan has been caught up in controversy after controversy so far in 2022.

A fan-made site called JREMissingcompare the list of Joe Rogan Experience episodes available on the platform with a database of all ever recorded episodes, being the first to discover.

The deleted episodes included guests like Amy Schumer, Ari Shaffir, Bert Kreischer, Brian Redban, Maynard James Keenan, Michael Malice, Russell Peters, Theo Von, and Tom Segura – some of whom were patrons.

Some episodes of Joe Rogan Experience that have been taken down still have patrons.

Spotify has yet to explain the reasoning behind the decision. However, CEO Daniel Ek denied they were motivated by the backlash. He also claims Rogan is not above policy rules despite his importance to them.
