Snowflake boss bans judge from saying ‘postman’ to avoid offending
NEW Guidelines for judges on how to address people include banning them from saying “postman”.
Snowflake’s bosses at Court and Court of Justice advised them to use sexist language such as “postal worker”.
Women are not called “lady” because this is considered patronage, the 566-page document asserts.
But critics say the regulator should focus on dealing with the backlog, which currently has more than 60,000 in crown courts in England and Wales.
Tory MP Nigel Mills added: “This is ridiculous. It is pointless and bizarre.
“The priority should not be this awakened agenda, which doesn’t work in the real world.
“It is better to waste time, effort and money supporting the public.”
