Slim 400 death: Ty Dolla Sign and Vince Staples pay tribute to West Coast rapper after fatal shot

Singer Sign Ty Dolla, Lil Yachty and Vince Staples thanked the rapper 400 . thin who was shot dead in California on December 8. He is 33 years old.

Law enforcement officers confirmed that Slim 400, real name Vincent Cohran, was in Inglewood, a city in California, when the shooting occurred.

In a statement for The Independent, A police department spokesman said:Inglewood patrol officers were patrolling the common area when gunfire could be heard. Officers responded to the area where they believe the gunshots originated and discovered Mr Cohran lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

No details about the suspect or motive have been revealed so far.

After The news of his death broke, many singers, producers and fans paid tribute to the Slim 400 on Twitter.

Grammy Award-nominated singer Ty Dolla Sign tweeted a picture of himself with the “Bruisin” singer and said, “long live $lim.”

Citing an earlier tweet from the Slim 400, rapper Vince Staples wrote: “Rest in peace.”

The Slim 400’s heartbreaking final tweet, posted on December 6, said: “What we can’t do is start over. So do your best now.”

Slim 400 is hospitalized in critical condition in 2019 after he was shot nine times in Los Angeles. Following the incident, the rapper said he was ambushed while visiting family in Compton. Slim 400 also revealed that a member of his family bravely opened fire to save his life.

Fellow rappers Lil Yachty, T Carriér, Zoey Dollaz, Dave and producer Devin Cruise also paid tribute to him on Twitter.

A tweet on the social media account for hip-hop blog Passion Weiss reads: “RIP Slim 400. A Compton gangsta rap archetype, ambassador for tradition, lineage and history – who created so much Many hardcore rap songs full of sober gravity and blunt force. “

Musician Michael Christmas wrote: “Damn RIP Slim 400 smh [shaking my head] I remember how happy he was when I joined YG.”

Singer Kamaiyah posted a photo with Slim 400 and YG, now defunct agency Pu$haz Ink, discovering the rapper was dead for the first time, with a broken heart emoji.

Los Angeles radio and television personality Cece Valencia remembered the rapper as “a real person from day one”.

Slim 400 was born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 22, 1988, but the rapper has yet to make his parents’ identities public.

He is said to be survived by a daughter.
