The sketch was taken from the many strange Christmas cards many families received.
In the last night Saturday night live, organized by Billie Eilish, a celebrity suddenly appeared in a sketch of a Christmas Card. A couple, do Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor, take a look at the Christmas cards they’ve received, which are brought to life. Miley Cyrus appears briefly in the sketch as herself, in a Christmas card with one of the couple’s friends. Hilarious moment highlighted by Cyrus and her jokes with the cast Punkie Johnson.
In the sketch, Moffat and Villaseõr look at their Christmas cards, which come to life for the audience. Each card is reminiscent of some hilarious stereotypical character we can all have in our lives, such as the couple in white with the ‘army of kids’, or Pete Davidson as ‘your cousin from Wisconsin’ wearing a camo and posing with a dead deer. Another highlight is Kate McKinnon, come back SNL after being absent for several episodes, as an unmarried friend of your mother.
Cyrus appears in a card from the couple’s friend Ruth (Johnson), pretending to be the celebrity’s best friend by sending a picture of them together as her Christmas card. Cyrus joked that Ruth came up to her and said “you’re Anna Montana” and that she hates Cyrus’ music. Cyrus reluctantly took a picture with Ruth after she hinted that not taking a picture with her would be racist behavior towards Cyrus. Cyrus is likely in SNL with Pete Davidson, as it was recently announced they will co-host NBC’s New Year’s Eve. Villaseñor and Moffat joked that Ruth was great to be friends with all these celebrities, even though we already know the actual setting of the painting.
Eilish appears in the final Christmas card of the sketch as Villaseñor’s high school bully, posing as the bored cheating husband with her and her teenage son. Eilish also joked about her family’s obnoxiously lengthy letter detailing their family updates, which many viewers may be familiar with.
The sketch hilariously captures the weirdness of receiving Christmas cards from friends and family, and the surprise appearance from Cyrus is an amusing one. You can see the sketch below:
