There’s usually fireworks at the Miller Outdoor Theater on Independence Day, but that won’t be the case in 2022.
ABC13 is the exclusive television partner of the Eleanor Tinsley Park event.
Performers from the Carver Aldine Dance Company, made up of Aldine ISD students, will perform a show at the event.
Visitors will see pieces from their last show, The Last Rain Forest.
“It’s definitely exciting. We’ve done it before in the past and look forward to getting back to routine. It’s exciting to perform in front of such a large audience,” said Jacqueline Cruz, one of the cast members.
Their first performance is at 5:30 p.m., but the gates to the event open at 4:00 p.m
The crews at Pennsylvania’s Pyrotecnico spent Sunday finalizing setups for Monday night’s show, which is expected to pack quite a punch.
At 7 p.m., artists Blanco Brown, Sawyer Brown and Clay Walker take the stage, followed by the fireworks.
The last two pyrotechnic shows at Shell Freedom Over Texas were conducted with the goal of getting the fireworks as high in the air as possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city’s last two events on July 4th saw no crowds, so visibility had to be increased. Some of the fireworks will return closer to the ground this year as the event operates at full capacity.
If you’re planning on joining us at Eleanor Tinsley Park, we’ll stream backstage access straight to your phone. Visit the ABC13 Houston app and you’ll find the show in the blue bar at the top of your screen.
