She Hulk: Lawyer Head writer Jessica Gao has cleared up rumors that the series will feature a cameo from Marvel star Tom Holland.
Holland, who plays Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man) in the hit film series, is reportedly set to appear in the new Disney+ show.
Several other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) characters have already been confirmed, including The incredible Hulk‘s Abomination (Tim Roth), Doctor Strange‘s Wong (Benedict Wong) and daredevil‘s Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox).
However, Gao seemed to give cold water to speculation that the Webslinger might also show up.
Speak with TVLineShe said: “Actually, the Disney+ series didn’t have any designs for the Webslinger itself, which of course is mired in this Sony/Marvel gray area – us knew innately that Spider-Man was a no-go.
“We thought maybe some of the other characters in Spiderman It could be fun to bring into our world, but we were told pretty early on that was impossible, so we didn’t really push it too far.”
“We just had some Spider-Man supernerds in our room dare to dream!” she added.
While Gao is most likely telling the truth — the rights to Spider-Man are currently shared between Sony and Marvel in a complicated and multi-faceted legal agreement — the MCU’s staff has been known to mislead fans about cameos.
Before his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way HomeAndrew Garfield flatly denied that he was reviving his old one Amazing Spider-Man Role.
In a recent interview She Hulk Star Tatiana Maslany explained why she herself initially lied when she was cast as the show’s lead.
Loki Star Owen Wilson this week admitted to being “scolded” by Marvel after accidentally divulging minor plot details from the series.
earlier this year, Thor: Love and Thunder Star Tessa Thompson apologized to the company after she was responsible for a leaked photo of her character’s new outfit that went online.
