Shazam 2 is better than the first movie according to Zachary Levi

Manager By David F. Sandberg Shazam! is a breath of fresh air. Full of heart, warm, funny and some clever layout, even tinged with horror, Zachary LeviThe DC-led movie immediately stands out as one of the best superhero movies of that traditional Batman and Superman-oriented cinema.
Thankfully, we’re all getting a sequel called Shazam! Fury of the Gods, with the creative team and cast returning (plus some new faces, dope) to bring us more unique superhero delights. Our Steve Weintraub recently spoke with Levi about his new sports movie American styleand while Levi can’t go too deep Shazamsecret of (“You know how we should all feel about spoilers, i.e. ‘We don’t say them'”), he tells us about the quality of the sequel he She thinks the sequel is a giant leap. And, like the rest of us, he wishes it would come out soon.
Levi understands why he believes Fury of the Gods is a previous victory Shazam, a movie he’s been proud of:
“I’ll say I’m honest – and this isn’t just lip service – I’m really proud of the first movie, I think we made a really, really good movie. I think the second movie. I think we made it more time, we had more budget. Basically, the whole cast came back, and we all know our characters more than one. little bit; we could sit in them a little bit more. Henry Gayden, who wrote the first screenplay, wrote the second, and he did a great job doing so. a little more and a little more. And the children have matured a little bit, so even their sensibilities have become a little more mature which brings it closer to the adult mind mine or someone else’s, so I think there’s even more connection there. Great action, great comedy, great relationships too. Bad guy, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, how wonderful. I am very proud of it. I want it to come out earlier than June 2023.”
Yes, sadly we have to wait until June 2023 to see Shazam 2. And while Levi, like the rest of us, wanted the release date to be pushed earlier (even crossing his arms while wishing), he was diplomatic and comprehensive about why Warner Bros. waiting: “Fortunately, we’re part of a huge group of characters and actors that are fun to play with. They’ve been more established in so many ways since the DC movies have been around since before we got in. So we had a little bit of JV joining the varsity squad, and there’s a lot of titles that need to be released to the world. I get it; studios have to make a concerted effort to don’t cannibalize your own titles. you can’t release them too close together or you can cannibalize each other plus you have to review all other studios’ releases and All that. So that’s where – but, you never know, maybe it’ll come out sooner. Here’s hope and prayer, I hope.”
For other DC movies coming out first Shazam, one of the hottest predictions is Black Adam, main character Dwayne Johnson in title role, scheduled for release on July 29, 2022. Is there any chance Black Adam first came out to hint at a crossover/shared universe between two heroes and movie stars? Levi told us, “I don’t know Dwayne, I have no contact with him, but I do know that we are all part of the same big, happy DC family and I look forward to any what cocktail party do we have. all together.” However, he also surprisingly noted some of the character highlights on Twitter going on between the two characters: “There were some funny little things. Humor went back and forth in character on Twitter. Someone asked him, ‘How can Shazam fight Black Adam?’ He replied: ‘He doesn’t.’ But then he labeled it ‘Black Adam,’ as if Black Adam was saying it.”
Is “Shazam v Black Adam: Dawn of Twitter” being teased right in front of our eyes?! Well… probably not. But a Dwayne Johnson / Zachary Levi cocktail party sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
Shazam! Fury of the Gods will release in theaters on June 2, 2023 (at least for now, tee-hee). Stay tuned for our full conversation with Zachary Levi soon. Shazam! Fury of the Gods also the stars Angel Asher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Faithe Herman, Good Megan, Grace Fulton, Michelle Borth, Ian Chen, Ross Butler, Jovan Armand, DJ Cotrona, Marta Milans, and Cooper Andrews.
