Shang-Chi star Awkwafina opposes accusations of cultural appropriation

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings The Awkwafina star has responded to allegations of cultural appropriation that have come to her.

The last few years have been wonderful for Awkwafina. The star didn’t just make her Marvel debut in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsbut she also appeared in the hit Disney animated movie Raya and the last dragon. Outside of the Disney/Marvel machine, the rapper/actor appeared as a fictional version of herself on Awkwafina is Nora from Queensa show she both co-produced and co-run.

Awkwafina’s talent is undeniable as she continues to become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars, whether it’s big budget projects like Shang-Chi or intimate dramas like Break up, continued to bring the audience to tears. As the star continued to rise, there was also backlash against the actor’s use of African American Native English (AAVE) as an artist. Awkwafina has used AAVE prominently in her performances as a rapper and has continued to practice throughout her time on screen.

As criticism continued to mount, Awkwafina took to social media to address allegations of cultural appropriation. The star will also spend a long time on social networks as suggested by the therapist.
