Sex and the City: New series And Just Like That deals with Samantha’s exit in episode 1

Sex and the city finally revealed what happened to Samantha, according to the actor Kim Cattralldramatic exit of the series.

And just like that, the much-anticipated sequel to the original show, kicks off on Thursday (December 9), with the opening scene revealing that Samantha is no longer talking to her friend Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis).

Relating to elements of Cattrall’s real life with no relationship with Parker, Samantha ended her friendship with Carrie after she was terminated as the latter’s promoter.

“It was like she was dead, we never talked about her,” Carrie tells Miranda in one of the first scenes of the revival. “She stopped answering my calls.”

“Her pride was damaged,” Miranda added.

Despite Carrie’s efforts to mend the fence with Samantha, she confesses that she was hurt by her old friend. “I think I’m more to her than an ATM.”

In the same scene, Miranda confirms that neither she nor Charlotte (Kristin Davis) speak to Samantha, despite texting and calling her to try to mend the fence.

“I guess that’s all we can do,” Miranda said. “I always thought the four of us would be friends forever,” added Carrie sadly.

Viewers also learn that Samantha has left New York and now lives in London.

Cattrall has long distanced herself from playing Samantha in the franchise, announcing in 2017 that she was moving on from the character.

She also said that Parker “could be better” about her refusing to be in a third Sex and the city movie.

Cattrall go further in February 2018, after the death of his brother Chris. After Parker wrote a condolence comment on Cattrall’s Instagram, Cattrall called her “evil” and posted a picture that read: “I don’t need your love or support at a tragic time hey @sarahjessicaparker.”

Parker has always denied being in love with Cattrall and insists she doesn’t hate her co-star.
