Seven drivers film horrific crash on A92 in Fife

Seven drivers who filmed a horrific crash on a main road have been caught by police.
A van driver with even ‘no steering wheel’ was fined £200 and given six points on his license.
Six other motorists can expect a call from police about their ‘dangerous, illegal and reckless’ behaviour.
The crash involved a Honda Civic, Ford Focus and a Volvo van on the A92 in Fife during Wednesday morning rush hour.
A 68-year-old driver and a 61-year-old passenger in the Honda were rushed to the hospital, where their condition is stable.
The 46-year-old Volvo truck driver and the 36-year-old Ford Focus driver were uninjured.
In a Facebook post, Fife police said: ‘It is disappointing that seven drivers filmed this scene on mobile while the driver and injured passenger were present.
‘One van driver didn’t even have a steering wheel and we made a conditional offer to give him six points on his license and a £200 fine.
‘Six other motorists can expect a letter or a knock on their door because that is simply unacceptable and we have their details.
‘It’s dangerous, illegal and reckless for those involved in the crash, so take that into consideration and stay away from your phone.’
Police are also appealing for information about the crash.
Sergeant Michelle Burns said: ‘Our investigations are continuing to determine the cause of this road accident.
‘The road was busy at the time and I would call on any witnesses who have not spoken to officers to contact us. I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage to continue. ‘
