Seth Curry takes revenge on the Hawks

Seth curry 31 years old.

He’s been with the NBA since 2013, appearing in 368 games – 334 in the regular season and 34 in the knockout stages – and has played for seven different teams over the past nine seasons.

And yet, the best period of Curry’s career came only in the summer, when he averaged 18.8 points in the Philadelphia 76ers’ 12-game playoff campaign. Whether it’s due to his incredible efficiency from anywhere on the field or a concerted effort by Doc Rivers to commit the offense through her daughter’s husband, the regular Curry is the Sixers’ second-best offensive weapon behind only Joel Embiid and is well on his way to becoming an expert sharpshooter.

For the most part, that didn’t happen.

Are not. Despite his incredible offensive efforts, Curry was brutally knocked out for his turnstile defense, especially compared to Kevin Huerter in Game 7 versus Atlanta, and saw his offensive development relegated to the ground, much like the series’ 10th pivotal storyline.

Unfortunately? Maybe so, but hey, that’s great; while Seth Curry certainly wanted more recognition for his efforts, that success has largely moved into 2021-22, to the chagrin of all stakeholders. And the best part? The entire Philadelphia 76ers team – without one notable exception – got revenge on those damn Atlanta Hawks, even when it arrived on a relatively bad Friday night in early December.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Seth Curry ruined the Atlanta Hawks’ Friday night.

Seth Curry is one of the best 3-pointers in NBA history. If he retired today, he would have second highest 3-point shooting percentage of any player since the lineup was born in 1979, right after his older brother Current head coach.

While Curry has never been a particularly high-volume shooter from out of arc – a Buddy Hield-type, if you will – when he lets it fly, the ball will fly less than half the time.

If that’s all Curry ever did, hitting 3 seconds at a ridiculous clip, he’d join a team of stalwart shooters with a reputation like Kyle Korver, Anthony Morrow, and our old friend JJ Redick, who have never entered the NBA stardom field but have had long and well-paid careers for their elite talents. Fortunately, Curry has expanded his skill set on his own, or should I say extensive in your skill set, if you will.

That’s right, after mastering his ability to shoot from 22-26 feet, give or take, Curry decided to take his game a few steps inside the arc to try to tackle mid-range Js after get rid of his defender.

Result? Curry is teaming up 59% of his 3.9 pull-ups per game from the 2-point range, a notable increase in production from both his 47.5 and 2.8 attempts-per-game completion rates from a previous season. Curry’s assists per game remains at a career-high average, tied for his first season in Dallas at 2.7 and his assist rate remains above 11%. for the third consecutive season, a welcome hold on last season’s development.

Really, the only area in Curry’s game that hasn’t gone a step further in 2021-22 is his average goalscoring per game, but did you know? I don’t think anyone is going to beat a defender with an 18.8 utilization rate to turn the ball more than 1.7 times per game instead of 1.1, especially since he’s averaging almost four more points. on nearly two more goals while handling the ball for 10.8 extra touches per game.

Yeah, I’ll take it any day.

Will Seth Curry ever become a legit All-Star player? I’d say no, but again, Kyle Korver has an All-Star appearance on his resume, so who really knows? But if prospect Duke/Liberty can only continue to deliver his newly expanded 3-point clutch, side-play, and mid-range game, it has a long way to go. back the offensive identity of the future Philadelphia 76ers. Now if only Curry could support his efforts on the other end of the court, we would really are trading. Seth Curry takes revenge on the Hawks
