Scottie Scheffler’s wife breaks down in tears after 2022 Masters triumph

An emotional Meredith Scudder broke down in tears on Sunday afternoon as husband Scottie Scheffler sealed his 2022 Masters victory at the Augusta National.
Scudder, who has been married to Scheffler since 2020, sat among the crowd just before he deservedly won his first-ever Major championship.
Scheffler, the world’s top golfer, finished Sunday’s final round 1 under par and 10 under for the entire tournament. Shortly after sinking his final putt, Scheffler hugged Scudder on the green, with the pair sharing a kiss.

In a post-tournament interview, Scheffler spoke of how Scudder encouraged him on Sunday morning in the hours leading up to his afternoon tee time.
“I cried like a baby this morning,” the New Jersey native recalled. “I was so stressed. I did not know, what I should do. I sat there and told Meredith [my wife], ‘I don’t think I’m ready for this. I’m not ready, I don’t feel ready for stuff like this.’ I just felt overwhelmed.
“She said to me, ‘Who are you that you’re not ready?’ What we talked about is that God is in control and the Lord is guiding me; and if today is my time, it is my time.”

Scheffler now has four wins on the PGA Tour — all since February. These include last month’s Arnold Palmer Invitational and the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play, both of which he celebrated with Scudder by his side.
