Saudi TV show mocks Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

A Saudi TV show mocked President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in a “Saturday Night Live” style show.
The clip from the show “Studio 22,” broadcast by Saudi state television company MBC, shows Biden as a forgetful old man who falls asleep on the podium and has to be woken up by a helpless Harris.
The clip begins with an actor playing Biden pointing aimlessly at reporters while “Harris” stands next to him.
“Biden” then wanders off the stage, only to be brought back by “Harris.”
Then she leads him to the podium to address reporters. The actor playing the president then begins to discuss “the crisis in Spain,” only to be corrected by the vice president.

“We’re going to talk about the crisis in Africa,” says the fake Biden. The actor who plays Harris corrects him again and gets him back on track to talk about Russia.
The actor who plays Biden has a hard time remembering the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Listen to me,” says the fake president. “I have very important news for you. The message is…”
At this point, Biden falls asleep and tells Harris to wake him up. Biden then goes on to refer to “the President of China,” only for Harris to point out that he hasn’t reached out to Russia yet.
Thanking “First Lady” Harris for the correction, Harris grabs the microphone and corrects him again.
As the President ends the press conference, he says, “Thank you. God bless you, and God bless…” Once again, Biden falls asleep and drifts into the arms of Harris, who has to pick him up again.
The clip went viral on social media.

Biden had a history of verbal gaffes and misrepresentations that caused him to misremember people’s names – leading observers to question his mental acuity.
The skit, broadcast by Saudi state television, could also be interpreted as a sign of Riyadh’s cold view of the Biden government.
Relations between the US and Saudi Arabia are at a low point. The kingdom and its allies in the region have rejected Biden’s pleas to boost oil production as energy prices have skyrocketed in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates reportedly refused to speak to the US President last month when he called to urge them to increase oil production.
