Amid health concerns for Queen Elizabeth II, the garden house on the Sandringham Estate has just been listed on Airbnb.
The country retreat in coastal Norfolk, England was traditionally used by the Queen and the rest of the royal family during Christmas and the New Year.
The castle is also where Queen Elizabeth gives her annual Christmas speech.
According to the estate’s official website, the estate has been owned by the royal family since 1862, when it was purchased as a gift for Prince Albert on his 21st birthday.
The Queen’s father, George VI, and grandfather, George V, also died here.
Listed by British boutique holiday rental agency Norfolk Hideaways, the garden house on the estate consists of four bedrooms and two bathrooms and was the former home of the Queen’s head gardener.
“This charming Norfolk retreat owned by HM The Queen, nestled in the heart of her much-loved country home on the Sandringham Estate and the closest estate to Sandringham House itself, is all about an appreciation of the great outdoors and beautiful gardens in which to live which it is within,” the Airbnb listing reads.
The brick house offers space for up to eight guests on two floors.
“Guests can take a stroll through the country park, which totals over 200 hectares (494 acres),” adds the listing.
And of course, as a nod to the Queen’s love for dogs, the listing reads, “Furry Friends Welcome.”
But to book a stay here you need to act fast. The dates are already assigned until February 2024. And staying there costs about $400 a night, according to the listing.
Queen Elizabeth also gifted a residence at the estate to Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, following their wedding in 2011. The property known as Anmer Hall consists of 10 bedrooms.
Meanwhile, royals have rushed to Scotland, to Balmoral Castle, where the Queen is currently staying under “medical supervision,” the palace said on Thursday.
“Following further examinations this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned about Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remain under medical supervision,” the statement said. “The Queen stays comfortable and on Balmoral.”
It is currently unclear why the Sandringham summerhouse was listed on Airbnb. The Post has reached out to the Queen’s Communications Secretary for comment.
