SEOUL (Reuters) – Samsung Electronics on Tuesday unveiled new automotive chips targeting demand for advanced chips in cars, including one embedded in a Volkswagen infotainment system developed by LG Electronics. .

In a statement, Samsung said demand is growing for “high-tech” automotive chips that can handle more entertainment needs and increased electrical components in cars, and said it has aggressive plans to meet growing demand.

The chips, developed by Samsung’s System LSI logic chip design business, include a chip that enables 5G-based telecommunications to download high-definition video content in transit and a chip. Power management for stable power supply.

A third chip, an infotainment processor that can control up to four screens and 12 cameras at once, has been embedded in Volkswagen’s high-performance computer called the In-car Application Server ( ICAS) 3.1, developed by LG Electronics’ vehicle parts business, Samsung said.
