Samira & Ashe quickly move up the league meta after mega AD carry changes

Samira and Ashe have proven to be the two big winners of League of Legends patch 12.5b as the mega AD carry changes shake up the meta. Zeri and Jinx have been disappointed, which is reflected in their win rates as Lucian climbs the ranks alongside others.

The AD have entered meta so far League of Legends season 12 was defined by three picks: Aphelios, Jinx, and Zeri. The latter two were popular with professionals and casual gamers alike, while the former posed a threat in the hands of experts.

There was very little room for other picks to assert themselves outside of niche combinations. However, that changed after League patch 12.5b, which drastically shifted the AD carry meta.

Gone are Jinx and Zeri – the latter definitely – with Samira, Ashe and even Lucian taking their place at the top of the meta.

Ashe is climbing the ranks of League of Legends again.

After being rendered irrelevant by a series of targeted nerfs and adjustments to Immortal Shieldbow, Samira is now above 50% winrate for the first time in months. Her win rate of 51.28% post LoL patch 12.5b is the highest increase of any champion, almost 3%.

Ashe also nudged over 50% after hovering around 49% for some time while Lucian is fast approaching breakeven.

Despite all the adjustments, the pristine Vayne remains the AD carry with the highest winrate at 52.15%. Twitch and Miss Fortune round out the podium, with Samira fourth.

It’s Jinx’s foil, however, with her Q nerfs and Zeri’s total obliteration that will shake up the meta even more.

Zeri’s win rate has increased from 50.18% to 49.35%but the big clue is that their ban rate was halved from more than 60% to under 30% in a matter of weeks.

Jinx is also down around 0.3% remain just over 50%. She’s still one of the most popular AD carries with a pick rate close to 25%, so more nerfs could come.

Jinx’s Q nerf took a bit of a hit off her win rate, but she’s still a meta champion.

Aphelios also crashed to become the worst AD carry in solo queue only a win rate of 45.60%. The 46.31% drop isn’t huge, but casual players are still penalized despite Weapon of the Faithful’s pro-dominance.

The changes have yet to be reflected in the pro game, but with the playoffs just around the corner in most regions, a changing of the guard could be imminent. Other champions like Varus might also see some play after their buffs.

Whether Samira and Ashe’s rapid ascent will continue in League Patch 12.6 on March 30 remains to be seen, but players are slowly adapting their bot lane habits to the series of changes. Samira & Ashe quickly move up the league meta after mega AD carry changes
