And just like stars Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) hinted at a year ago, it looks like turbulence is on the way. At the end of the penultimate episode, guards arrive at Fraser’s Ridge to arrest Claire. But it’s clear that she and Jamie won’t go down without a fight.
Outlander season 6 is all about revolution
stranger season 6 went into production in early 2021. And while the episodes were still filming, executive producer Matthew B. Roberts promised that this season’s theme would be revolution.
The events take place just before the American Revolutionary War. But the issue of revolution is not just about the political climate. It’s also about what’s going on Jamie and Claire.
“There will be a revolution with them too and I think that will happen throughout the season. You have a basis. When that foundation is shaken and there is a revolution, you have to deal with it. That’s kind of the theme of the season,” Roberts said ell Magazine.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe hinted at the turmoil to come
At the same time that Roberts was discussing revolution, Heughan and Balfe hinted at impending turmoil for Jamie and Claire. That stranger Stars promised a “very exciting season” – and they definitely delivered. The co-leads also hinted that “turbulence” is ahead.
“Everyone is starting to find their feet and some are still struggling,” Balfe said. Then Heughan promised, “The underlying theme of this season is definitely that there’s a lot more turmoil here.”

Turbulence ensues in the season 6 finale of Outlander
In the preview for the stranger Season 6 finale – after the guards arrive to make an arrest – it looks like Jamie and Claire are refusing to let them take them. Which leads to a shootout between guards and the Frasers.
In the clip, a guard says to Jamie, “I didn’t expect you to just give up on her, but you will soon enough.” To which Jamie replies, “I ken what you are doing.”
The episode preview also reveals that the Fraser’s Ridge community has turned against them completely, believing that Jamie was the father of Malva’s baby and that Claire was the one who killed her. A man is heard screaming, “Justice for the murdered girl!”
The clip ends with a hint of serious danger as Jamie tells Claire, “We must go together, I see no other way.”
