The Match of the Day presenter praised Dyche for the “brilliant job” he has done at Turf Moor over the past decade, guiding the Clarets to two Premier League promotions.

Lineker tweeted: “Burnley fired Sean Dyche 8 games before the end of the season.

“What a brilliant job he has done for so many years. Feels like a really shitty thing.”

U23 coach Mike Jackson and skipper Ben Mee will guide the team for tomorrow’s trip to West Ham, with the Clarets four points from safety.
