Defend the 3
Notre Dame is shooting a sizzling 38 percent from downtown, which ranks 15th nationally, and second-best scorer Dane Goodwin is a 44.8-percent shooter. Rutgers must let the Irish run from the 3-point line.
Attack the basket
The Irish lack something like a rim protector. They were last in the ACC in blocks per game at 1.88, which should mean many easy baskets for Cliff Omoruyi and Co. in Paint.
ride your horses
Make sure Geo Baker and Ron Harper Jr. get their shots. Rutgers will have to sink or swim with the two seniors, top scorers and faces of the revived program.
