RONDA ROUSEY has denied reports that she was angry that her clash with Charlotte Flair was postponed from WrestleMania 38’s main event.
That booked her ticket to the main event from WrestleMania almost three years after she last competed in the ring.
She originally made headlines around the world when she swapped the octagon for the square circle in January 2018.
Rousey’s last match before that was the historic main event of WrestleMania 35 against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in 2019, a match she pinned for the belt from “The Man” Becky Lynch.
‘Rowdy’ then said she was taking time off from wrestling to start a family with her husband Travis Browne.
And the couple celebrated it Arrival of their little girl La’akea in September.
But despite the embrace of motherhood, the lure of a Rumble win and Mania main event proved too tempting to refuse.
However, a late Friday switch reportedly resulted in her storming off and not attending WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony.
Brian Alvarez by Wrestling Observer Radio described her reaction to discovering that Stone Cold Steve Austin’s comeback match would top the bill instead.
He said: “She discovered she was no longer scheduled to be last in line on Friday and in a shocking development, left the recordings on Friday before the Hall of Fame ceremony unfolded.
“Of course, ‘cool heads’ have actually prevailed.
“She did the ref-bump shenanigans job for Charlotte Flair in a match that Ric Flair called ‘the greatest.'”
Rousey has now responded to the speculation, tweeting: “I don’t know where these ‘reports’ are coming from but it was an absolute honor to perform under Steve Austin at Wrestlemania in Texas.
“I wasn’t a Hall of Famer because I have a six-month-old baby that I had to put down early. People literally create drama out of nothing.”
Rousey would controversially lose the match as Flair retained her title — even despite a cloakroom malfunction.
