Roe v Wade: Celebrities react as leaked document shows Supreme Court ready to overturn historic abortion legislation

Celebrities from the worlds of film, television, music and literature have reacted with outrage at the bomb leak over the US Supreme Court’s apparent decision Deer vs Wade.

A first draft of a majority opinion was leaked late Monday (May 2), suggesting the court will overturn the landmark 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide.

The news was heavily criticized by politicians, activists and members of the public on social media, with a number of high-profile figures in the arts also chiming in.

star trek Star and author George Takei wrote: “These motherf*****s really nailed it. First they came for black voters, then they targeted LGBTQ+ families. Now, the women of America, they overrule Deer vs Wade. We must unite and fight back. Go out into the street. Overwhelm them at the ballot box. You’ve gone too damn far.

“These judges lied in their hearings confirming that Roe is settled by law. That is reason to indict them, or at least expand the court to counteract the effect of their blatant and willful deception.”

Actress Amber Tambyln wrote: “Tonight our Supreme Court declared war on more than half of its citizens – women and laborers everywhere.

“The overturning of Roe V Calf is an act of political violence against us and we will not accept it. We will fight and we will not stop. JE.”

“People need to take to the streets peacefully,” wrote actress Alyssa Milano, urging her supporters to join the ERA Coalition, an organization fighting to ratify an equality amendment.

“We must enshrine the protection of women in the constitution,” she wrote. Go to and join our mission to get the Archivist to print the already ratified Equality Amendment. We can hardly wait.”

family Guy‘s Seth MacFarlane wrote: “As the stunningly partisan, right-wing dominated SCOTUS brings America closer to Handmaid’s Tale status, the importance of voting in EVERY election becomes even more apparent. One would hope that today’s news would erase any further delusions that ‘both parties are pretty much the same’.”

“Two unelected individuals have decided that millions of American women no longer have the right to make decisions about their reproductive health,” wrote filmmaker Rob Reiner.

“As we take another big step toward fascism, never forget: VOTE IMPORTANT!”

Mia Farrow told followers: “Forced birth? Not really. I lived through the abortion ban for years. The fact is that abortions will not decrease. Women will continue to get the abortion they need. Except that abortions are not safe. Many, many women and girls are maimed or die.”

“Take your boots off our bellies,” Rosanna Arquette wrote, while Josh Gad wrote, “Make no mistake. A majority in this country is angry tonight. No small majority. A huge majority.

“I see that anger. I hear this anger i feel this anger And to all the scared women tonight, I will fight for you and with you. I will fight like hell. We all have to.”
