But Pattinson’s scenes aren’t all shirtless. When he’s not flaunting his abs, he’s donning the infamous – and powerful – Batman suit.

“It’s funny because you read the script and you spend a lot of time thinking, ‘How can I play this character doing these kinds of bold acts?’ And the closer I got to filming, the more paranoid I got — you know, it feels ridiculous when you’re just sitting home in a t-shirt — and then you put it on,” he said of the costume. “It has an elemental power.”

The “whole world changes suddenly,” he said of the artificial armor, “because people react to you differently” when they see it. He realized that the character was “just a lot taller” than him, akin to “wearing a crown”.
