Roar for the University of Houston Cougars at this free downtown outdoor watch party

To celebrate the No. 5 seeded Coogs taking on UAB in the first round of the NCAA tournament, UH and Houston First Corp. Downtown March Madness Watch Party at Avenida Houston on Friday from 8 p.m. Fans are encouraged to put on their best UH gear or red and shout for the team.

According to the announcement, expect a giant 24-foot screen, music, drinks, games, prizes, performances by UH mascots Shasta and Sasha, and performances by the university dance, cheer and band.
