Riverside County man who led disability programs arrested for sexual abuse – San Bernardino Sun

A former director of the adult program for adults with developmental disabilities in Riverside County was arrested January 25, according to the Riverside Police Department, following allegations of sexual abuse and abuse of a dependent adult. mentioned.

Alan Clyde Schwerdt, 71, served as director of the Career Development Institute in Riverside as well as director of Ability Counts in Corona, police said.

Police officer Ryan Railsback, a spokesman for the Police Department, said the crimes took place during Schwerdt’s time as director of the Career Development Institute from 2015 to 2020. Railsback says it’s not immediately known if any similar crimes have occurred in Ability Counts.
