House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has defended Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) as many Democrats call for Colorado Republicans to be stripped of their mandate in the Senate. her committee. McCarthy said Boebert did not need to apologize further for her comments against Democratic lawmakers.

Speaking to reporters Friday, McCarthy said Boebert had attempted to issue a public and personal apology for her anti-Muslim comments against Congressman Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). McCarthy highlighted the hypocrisy in the way Democrats failed to take action against members of their own party.

“Did anyone in your aisle talk about a time when Omar said the only reason I supported Israel was about the Benjamins? I never received a public apology or a phone call,” said the Republican.

During the press conference, McCarthy also predicted many Democrats would announce their retirement before the year was over, saying it had been a disastrous year in Congress. Republicans have criticized Democrats for their inability to pass one-party rule bills in the Senate before having to engage the GOP, such as Thursday night’s vote on funding for the Senate. government.

“The management of this House is unbelievable. Why would they put America’s financial peril first,” he questioned.

McCarthy brought the Biden administration to light, targeting Joe Biden’s failure to keep his promises amid rising inflation as the situation continues to affect hard-working Americans every day.

“He [Joe Biden] promised he would turn off the virus but he did not. President Biden’s only strategy so far has been to intimidate Americans with more arbitrary COVID restrictions and authorizations,” McCarthy said. “He drained 50 million barrels of oil from our emergency barrel and did nothing to reverse the anti-American energy program.”

Meanwhile, McCarthy suggested Republicans would get a majority in the House next year, saying the GOP would listen, listen to all Americans and improve their quality of life.
