Remains found in Texas as Kevin Ware’s missing girlfriend

The remains discovered in December have been identified as Taylor Pomaski, the missing Texas girlfriend of former NFL player Kevin Ware, authorities said.

29-year-old Pomaski, who was last seen at a party at her home in Spring, Texas, on April 25, 2021, was identified as human remains by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News on Saturday with

“The investigation is still open and active, and homicide detectives are busy completing this case,” senior deputy Thomas Gilliland told the outlet in an email.

The remains were found in northern Harris County on Dec. 10 as authorities searched for leads to their disappearance, the sheriff’s office previously said.

Pomaski had been living with Ware, a former tight end of the San Francisco 49ers, when she was reported missing.

Prosecutors identified Ware as a suspect in her disappearance during a hearing in an unrelated gun and drug case. No charges have been filed against Ware over Pomaski’s disappearance.

Ware’s attorney, Coby DuBose, said at the time that the former athlete was cooperating with authorities.

“He has told the police everything he knows and he has shown them around his house. He let her into his house, and that’s really all we’re going to say about that,” DuBose said. Remains found in Texas as Kevin Ware’s missing girlfriend
