Record high temperatures expected on Thursday

KANSAS CITY, Mo.– The trend over the past few weeks has been warm and dry. And fourth is the epitome of that trend! On Wednesday, KC’s high was 64 degrees, with higher than 60 degrees found on the Kansas side.

On Thursday, the weather is expected to be even warmer as more sunshine and southwesterly winds continue.

And it is likely that the record will be rewritten in the afternoon. The old record for December 2 was 70 degrees, set in 1956.

We expect to hit 72 this Thursday, which should easily take us past that record.

By the way, looking back at the other record high temperature recorded in early December, pretty much every 1st (or 2nd and 3rd place) comes from the 21st century. So, December’s weather is unusually warm. usually not unusual in recent years.

Just looking at the entire Midwest region, everyone should enjoy above-normal readings over the next few days.

On Thursday, cities across Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa could see highs, 25-35 degrees warmer than average!
