At the time of writing, the Red Wings are listed as +155 home underdogs and the over/under stands at 6.5, but it’s pretty certain those numbers will move if/when Georgiev is confirmed as a starter.

Even with Georgiev at the net and the team traveling back-to-back, Rangers deserve their status as decent road favorites. As well as being winners of five of the last six and seven of the last nine, the Blueshirts are up against a team that has lost their last three games by an aggregate score of 18-3.
Detroit’s defensive form isn’t just a blip, either. In the last 26 games, the Wings have played 8-15-3 and conceded a whopping 123 goals. This corresponds to 4.7 allowed goals per game in this period.
With Detroit’s defense and goaltenders in shambles, Georgiev likely doesn’t need to be out of light to give Rangers a shot at winning at Little Caesar’s Arena. However, his presence behind a defense struggling to stifle scoring chances in 5-on-5s also offers the wings a path to success.
Right now there isn’t a team in worse defensive shape than the Red Wings, but the truth is, Shesterkin’s exploits were a godsend behind a Rangers defense that ranks in the bottom 10 in terms of expected goals against and high-risk chances to score at 5-a-side -5. A duel between these two defenses with Georgiev and a struggling Alex Nedeljkovic as a planned keeper duel is every bettor’s dream – even if that total climbs to 7.
