RALF RANGNICK has been granted a work permit to officially lead Manchester United – but he will not be attending tonight’s clash with Arsenal.
He will carry out that role until the end of the season before starting as a consultant for the club.
SunSport today revealed that Rangnick has traveled to the UK and will be allowed into the Old Trafford stands provided he continues to test negative for Covid.
But he needs a work permit to take up the position of temporary manager of United.
Due to his recent absence coaching experience, Rangnick had to go before an FA panel to get the visas needed to work in the Premier League.
While his waiver is always a formality, the timing of the hearing is beyond United’s control, so Michael Carrick has decided to continue with the first team shirt today.

However, he stated that Rangnick will still only watch from the stands for today’s game against Arsenal and that Carrick will be in charge on the touchline.
The former Hoffenheim manager can now join his new club on the training ground and on game days and will speak to the media on Friday.
But it looks like Sunday’s home clash with Crystal Palace will be the first time we’ll see him roaming home at the Theater of Dreams.
United tasted victory over Villarreal in the Champions League last week in Carrick’s first game at the helm after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.
This was followed by a 1-1 draw against leaders Chelsea on Sunday – with many fans believing new man in regular contact with the bench during the game.
