‘Prince Andrew told me to ‘turn it off’
An officer said Prince Andrew wearing a “SCAM” tracksuit told royal police to “walk away” after the Duke ignited a security threat outside the Queen’s bedroom Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Page said the incident is believed to have happened in the early 2000s.
“It was at night, and we were checking the CCTV in the control room when we saw a man walking down the hallway in Queenprivate,” he said.
“Your Majesty was not at Buckingham Palace at the time, so this was a major potential security threat.
“A sergeant, me and two other policemen went to her apartment to investigate.
“We approached from both ends of the corridor so we could surround the potential intruder. But when we got there, we realized it was Prince Andrew.”
Trang continued: “He looked untidy and wore a tracksuit.
“I apologized and said, ‘I’m sorry, Your Majesty, we went to investigate a possible intruder in Your Majesty’s flat’.
“Andrew replied, ‘This is my home, I go where I want, now I’m off’.”
