Queen Elizabeth ‘fading before our eyes’: royal expert

A royal expert is sounding the alarm, saying new photos of Queen Elizabeth II show the beloved monarch “fading before our eyes”.
Commenting for Australian outlet News.com.AU on Friday, Daniela Elser said pictures of the Queen welcoming New South Wales Governor Margaret Beazley to the UK last week were “downright alarming”.
The snaps show the 96-year-old royal in a bright yellow dress as she smiles and shakes hands with the Australian politician at Windsor Castle.
Elser claims the images are unremarkable until compared to photos taken by the Queen in a similar outfit in June 2021 when she met former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
“The difference is really amazing,” writes the royal expert. “Over the past 12 months, Her Majesty appears to have significantly hunched over, much thinner and overall shrunken.”
The Post has reached out to the Queen’s communications secretary for comment.

Noting that the Queen has had to “retire from previously non-negotiable events” “almost every month” since last October, Elser speculated the full extent of her health woes are being kept secret.
“Aid workers are in a difficult position,” the expert claimed. “You can hardly come out and give the press a running commentary on whatever might be sick [the queen].”
However, Elser claimed the royals need to be a little transparent as they risk looking “squirrel-like and secretive”, especially as the family’s image has taken a hit amid Prince Andrew’s recent scandal.

In fact, the Queen’s health has been in the headlines since October last year, when she was spotted wielding a walking stick for the first time in 17 years. An insider said at the time the help was for her “consolation”.
Her Majesty was hospitalized later that month and consequently canceled a trip to Ireland before returning to royal duties.
However, in May a statement from Buckingham Palace revealed the Queen would be “reluctantly” missing out on a royal engagement due to “mobility issues”. The decision was made in “consultation with her doctors,” according to the palace.

Last week, the Queen missed Royal Ascot for the first time since her coronation seven decades ago.
She also withdrew from events earlier this month because she was “uncomfortable” during the massive platinum jubilee celebrations marking her historic 70-year service anniversary.
While attending the Trooping the Color parade, she missed the National Service of Thanksgiving and attended the Platinum Jubilee Pageant only as a hologram.

“While I may not have personally attended every event, my heart was with you all; and I remain committed to serving you to the best of my ability, supported by my family,” she said in a statement issued during the anniversary. “I was inspired by the kindness, joy and connection that has been so evident over the past few days, and I hope that renewed sense of togetherness will be felt for many years to come.”
