But the Mariupol martyrs have vowed in a powerful “last message” to fight Russia to the death in a bloody last stand.

Major Serhiy Volyna – the commander of Ukrainian last stronghold of the forces in a steel mill in the besieged city – says that despite the relentless explosions, the troops will not surrender Russian Fighter.

Putin’s army is attempting to storm the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works, where the last of the Ukrainian troops and civilians are waiting using underground tunnels to stage a last stand.

And Kadyrov, the head of Russia’s Chechen Republic, claims they will be victorious in just a few hours.

He scoffed: “Before lunch or after lunch, Azovstal will be completely under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”

Major Volyna of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade has insisted that the forces at the plant “not lay down our arms” despite being outnumbered ten to one.

In a chilling video, he warned that this could be their “final message” as Russian troops surround the area and constantly unleash volleys of fire.

“This is our appeal to the world. This could be our last message,” he said.

“We are probably facing our final days, if not hours.

“The enemy outnumbers us 10 to 1. They have an advantage in the air, in artillery, in their land forces, in equipment, and in tanks.

“We are defending only one object – the Azovstal plant, where, in addition to military personnel, there are also civilians who fell victim to this war.”

He also called on world leaders to help evacuate wounded citizens from the stricken city, much of which has been reduced to rubble by constant aerial and artillery fire.

“We appeal and ask all world leaders to help us,” he added.

“We ask them to use the procedures of ‘extraction’ and take us to the territory of a third country.”

Major Volyna said the unit had more than 500 wounded soldiers – as well as hundreds of civilians including women and children.

The port city, which was home to more than 450,000 people, has been under constant attack by Russian forces since early March, with satellite imagery showing the devastation of 95 percent of its residential areas.

At least 20,000 deaths are feared in the middle of the “Hellscape”.

Ukrainian fighters remaining in Mariupol have been given a new ultimatum to surrender, although not a single soldier accepted the offer on Tuesday.

The Russian Defense Ministry said: “On the basis of purely humanitarian principles, the Russian Armed Forces again propose that the fighters of nationalist battalions and foreign mercenaries cease their military operations on April 20 at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time and lay down their arms.”

A similar offer was made on Tuesday, according to the Russian Defense Ministry not a soldier surrendered.
