Priti Patel faces calls for his resignation as only 1,200 Ukrainian refugees made it to the UK

WUT erupted yesterday as pathetic new stats show just 1,200 Ukrainians with ready British hosts managed to get here.
The numbers are 43,600 despite Houses for Ukraine Applications – a dismal success of three percent.
More than 30,000 people are waiting for visas.
home secretary Priti Patel Faced with demands for resignation.
She denied the bureaucracy caused delays, snapping, “It’s easy to blame someone else.”
She “apologized in frustration” and said the numbers were improving, but claimed Ukrainians “won’t see any delays”.

Ms Patel insisted paperwork checks were needed to protect and secure Ukrainians to prevent them from being wrongfully deported in another Windrush scandal.
She said: “It doesn’t slow down the process.”
Hosts have railed against ridiculous rules such as B. the ban on having a pond.
A further 10,800 out of 36,000 Ukrainians came through the family program to be with existing relatives in the UK.
Tory MP Alec Shelbrooke said: “The Home Office needs to get its head out of peacetime and wartime.”
