All serving members of the armed forces, as well as blue light officers and correctional officers, will receive one of the honors.

Members of the Royal Family holding honorary positions in the military are also eligible.

Veterans will not receive a medal unless they are survivors of a George Cross or Victoria Cross.

Andrew and Harry were stripped of royal titles and all military titles, although both have served abroad.

But according to the rules, they would be considered veterans – meaning they wouldn’t apply for a medal, walkie talkie report.

And now Palace sources say the Duke of York and the Duke of Sussex may lose their status as Counselors of State, according to Letters.

State advisers include the monarch’s spouse and the next four in the line of succession, who are over the age of 21.

But following the loss of royal patronage, it was reported that the Duke of York and Sussex may not be able to carry out official duties on behalf of the Queen for much longer.

But it would take an Act of Congress to remove Andrew and Harry’s positions of State Counsel.

A royal source told the newspaper: “It’s a real problem the Palace is looking to solve.

“Can you imagine the Duke of York having to sign official documents, for example, because the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge are both overseas, and the Queen is ill?

“It’s not an exaggeration to say that it could put the monarchy in jeopardy.”

The Duke of York was effectively expelled last week after being summoned to Windsor for an emotional summit with the Queen.

It happened when he was fighting a civil sexual abuse case against accuser Virginia Giuffre. Andrew vehemently denies any wrongdoing.

It comes as:

He first withdrew from public life in November 2019 because of his relationship with the late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

A statement released by the Reveal Palace he will never return to the royal line again, and is to defend the case as a private citizen.

The Duke enjoyed a 22-year career in the Royal Navy, and served as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War. He also commanded the minesweeper HMS Cottesmore.

His grandson Harry has given up his three honorary titles after deciding to step back as a working royal and move to the US with his wife Meghan in 2020.

He was reported very sad to lose the role, which included General of the Royal Marines – a title formerly held by Prince Philip.

The Duke of Sussex served in the Army for a decade, rising to the rank of captain and completed two tours of Afghanistan.

The news of the men going unrecognized comes in a tumultuous few days for the Royal Family.

As well as Andrew’s sensational dismissal, which could permanently obscure him from the public eye, it appears Harry is taking legal action against the UK Government.

The Duke of Sussex is said to have told the family he will be back for Prince Philip’s memorial service at Westminster Abbey, scheduled for April.

Those plans are now in doubt, and royal author Phil Dampier said today that he believes Meghan may never return to the UK.

Even so, it was revealed that Prince Charles has invited the Sussexes to stay with him, and would love to spend time with her grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.

Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.
