Prince Andrew could be evicted from his 31-bedroom mansion and lose police protection

CAUSE Andrew now faces the even more humiliating prospect of being evicted from his 31-bedroom Georgian mansion and losing police protection.
In 2003, he signed a 75-year lease at Royal Guest House for a one-time fee of £1 million for the Crown Estate – the equivalent of around £250 a week.
Andrew spent £7.5 million on refurbishing the property, including the addition of an indoor swimming pool.
Royal Lodge, which has a value of at least £30 million on the open market, is three miles away Windsor Castle and the former home of the Empress Dowager.
Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is also living in the mansion although the couple are said to have separate wings.
If he gets booted, the prince can switch to Harry and Meghan’s old stare at Frogmore Cottage, when their lease expires in April.
His downgrade could also mean he loses 24-hour police protection – and has to pay for security himself.
