President of Ukraine Zelenskyy said evil had returned in his Victory Day speech

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday evil had returned to Ukraine as he delivered an emotional address to mark Victory Day, when Europe commemorates Germany’s formal surrender to the Allies in World War II.
The life soldiers fought for in that war ended on February 24 when Russian troops invaded, he said in a video message.
“The evil has returned. Again!” said Zelensky. “In a different form, under different slogans, but for the same purpose.”
Moscow has been calling its actions since February 24 a “special military operation” to disarm Ukraine and rid it of what it calls “Nazis” and Western-fomented anti-Russian nationalism. Ukraine and the West say Russia has launched an unprovoked war of aggression.

The invasion of Ukraine has killed thousands and displaced nearly 10 million people. It has left Russia in the grip of harsh Western sanctions and fueled fears of a broader confrontation between Russia and the West.
In Russia, Victory Day on May 9 is one of the country’s most important national events – a reminder of the enormous sacrifices made by the Soviet Union in defeating Nazi Germany.
