It was at that time replaced by a yellow winter ballwith supporters who love comic book style design.
Although some Twitter users have likened it to ‘a giant goblin’.
Revealing a new ball, an English Premier League declare read: “The design is ‘white/blue/crimson/laser black’, with a white base joined by the same graphic, inspired by the organic connection found on the first Balloon in this season and hi-vis.
“The highlight of this ball compared to previous balls this season is the 12 signal blocks.
“The circles on the surface of the ball, which enhance visual performance, allow players to better read the speed and spin of the ball.
“These are more prominent, sitting above the other graphics.”
