Premier League captains wear yellow and blue armbands during weekend games to show support for Ukraine

PREMIER LEAGUE captains will wear special yellow and blue captain’s armbands this weekend to show their support for Ukraine.
The top clubs have agreed to make the gesture of unity and those inside the field will be asked to be quiet before the start of matches.
Large screen and perimeter board will show “Football Stands Together” against the background of the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
A Prem spokesman said: “This message of solidarity will also be displayed to fans around the world on Premier League digital channels.
“The logos and profiles on those platforms will change to represent the colors of the Ukrainian flag, which will also be displayed on match broadcasts both in the UK and abroad.”
A statement also emphasizes Prem’s opposition to Russia Invades Ukraine.
The clubs added: “The Premier League and our clubs wholeheartedly reject the Russian action.
“We call for peace and our thoughts are with all those affected.
“A show of solidarity for Ukraine will be on display at all Premier League matches from Saturday 5 to Monday 7 March.
“This follows many of the ways that clubs have shown their support.”
Prem will also ‘encourage fans to join players, managers, match officials and club staff in a moment of reflection and solidarity before the start of each game’.
While, Brighton will wear the yellow and blue away kit for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle
Graham Potter will also donate all profits from the ongoing kit sale to the British Red Cross on the Ukraine Crisis.
Brighton’s women’s team will also wear the anti-bandage band Aston Villa inside Women’s Super Prize on Saturday morning.
It follows City of Manchester emphasized their support on Tuesday when Their Ukraine defender Oleksandr Zinchenko named captain give 2–0 FA Cup win at Peterborough.
