Police Chase: Woman leads police in a 30-minute chase down the Southwest Freeway after ramming a squad car

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A woman has been taken into custody for leading police in a chase after she rammed a squad car during a traffic delay on Saturday, police said.

At 12:30 a.m., officers attempted to pull over the woman, who was driving a pickup truck near the Southwest Freeway for traffic violations. The woman failed to meet the officers and then rammed the patrol car and fled the scene.

This led to a 30-minute chase into the Houston area. The Houston Police Department assisted the woman and relocated her tire to try to stop her, but only the left front tire was flat.

The woman continued to drive slowly until she came to a stop on the North Freeway near Louetta.

When arrested, the woman resisted arrest and medical attention from emergency services as she was placed on a stretcher.

It is not known why she fled the scene.
