‘The road is too long’

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince believes his old side have a ‘long, very long way to go’ and has named four players who are not good enough.

Speaking on The United Stand, Ince said: “Ronaldo has a year left, he is not the future. It’s not [Edinson] Cavani. [Paul] Pogba can leave. Bruno [Fernandes] may go.

“You look at the players who are playing right now. Fred isn’t good enough, we know it. [Scott] McTominay isn’t good enough, we know it.

“[Aaron] Wan-Bissaka has lost all confidence, he is not the right choice. [Jadon] Sancho looked away from it for miles.

“If you bring in a new manager, you have to change 80 per cent of the team and still try to keep up with the standards of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

“Manchester United has a long way to go and I can’t see Ralf Rangnick in charge next year.”
